    Musk really is a moron. But then again, if news organizations abandon the platform, so will advertisers. if his intention was to junk the thing and drive it into the ground, he's ahead of schedule.

    His best move now is to abandon it - set up some independent non-profit trust kind of thing to oversee it, establish rules and protocols, keep it running as some type of public town square and be done with it.

    Twitter does not bring in much traffic or engagement, anyway. Newspapers could disappear from the platform tomorrow and it’d not make any difference financially for them.

    But it has been painstakingly, eye-rollingly, exasperatedly explained to me again and again here and elsewhere that Mr. Musk is all about free speech.

    Especially all his big money, sooperdooper high-caliber Weiss-Taibbi libertarian journalism.

    Hmmm.
