What’s going on at Palace? Playing with nine men?

Brentford are mid-table but you'd think they were top of the pops if you listened to Talk Sport. They're raving about them, even more so than bloody Toon, which deserve the attention more.

You can spray for cockroaches, but you can't spray for Red Devils. Old tried-and-true MUFC quietly lurking in the Europa slot with two matches in hand.

Golden Goal was something of a fad originating from the fact that the 1994 World Cup final was a goalless draw. Extra time always had the same maximum length, so it was never intended to replace penalties, just to reduce their likelihood. The Euro 1996 final was won on a golden goal and at least one of France's elimination games in 1998 but it quickly developed as a sense of mutually assured destruction and made it just as likely to go to penalties. Ironically, the elimination of golden goal deprived us of exactly the finish everyone would have wanted, Messi scoring a World Cup winner in extra time.

If that had been the golden goal, it would have been Hand of God times ten, in light of ARG subs stepping on the pitch beforehand. World Twitter (Witter?) would've lost its nut.

I think World Twitter had already lost its shit. I re-learned several French swear words when searching for reactions to Emi Martinez's bit in the shootout.

Ronaldo did it to himself and I do not feel bad for him.

Agosto em Kansas City é mais quente do que dois ratos em uma porra de meia de lã.
