Fires or floods? Both suck. Give me the water.

Right there with you. Bay Area flooding (at least those of us not in the Russian River or Santa Cruz areas) is more annoying than anything. Give me annoying over the fires any day.

I've got a buddy whose brother-in-law lives somewhere in obscure Montana. Apparently they have 8 feet of snow. Holy goodness.

I hear the snowpack in the Sierra is getting close to double the season average and ski resorts are killing it. That's great news, but it'll take more to bust the drought.

I love that what used to be considered a rainy day in northern California when I was riding my bike to high school is now an "atmospheric river."

Easiest job in the country has to be a meteorologist for a Bay Area TV station. There are two distinct seasons in a normal year.

    1. There's not enough rain = fires.
    2. There's too much rain = mudslides.

And the kicker: "This still won't end the drought." No shit, Sherlock. One rainstorm is better than none, though. And more than one is better than one. It takes as long to fill 'em as it does to empty 'em.

"I'd rather have water in the reservoirs for $500, Alex."

Strong to severe thunderstorms here today. Severe does not fool around in this area. Best of luck to Cali today.

We were promised 90% chance of rain Monday and it all blew up east of us. We live on a proverbial knife's edge along the I-35 corridor.

Just regular old shitty January here in eastern Mass. Rain, freezing rain, snow showers, etc., then a few days of sunny and cold. Dreary as that is, boring weather sure beats interesting weather.
