Aubrey Plaza wasn't on Community. You're probably thinking of Parks and Rec.

They managed to slip in a hint that Blanc's accent is at least embellished for others. If I remember correctly, he refers to it as "southern hokum."

"White Noise." Based on the acclaimed Don DeLillo novel, this was very good. Great cast (Adam Driver, Greta Gerwig, Don Cheadle) and outstanding production design (recreating mid-80s small-town America) make this a winner. Often hilarious. Directed and scripted by Noah Baumbach.

That fakeass cornpone Georgia accent he attempted in Knives Out was physically painful for me, and tore me from the willing suspension of disbelief eevery time he opened his mouth. He moderated the Foghorn Leghorn in Glass Onion, much to my relief. I liked both movies, but migawd I hated that accent.

I haven't seen Knives Out. I heard it was good and we talked about watching it this weekend, but my daughter has no tolerance for the running gag with Ana De Armas's character.

Pun not intended when I wrote the sentence, but I see and own it now. :)

It was a good film, well done. Both are loving hat tips to Agatha Christie style mystery movies. I basically liked both very much. As I said above, however, Craig's accent was ridiculously excessive.

I guess you can put me alongside the English film fans who ridiculed Kevin Costner's attempt at an English accent in his Robin Hood movie. I found it painful.

Saw A Man Called Otto today. Movie's so-so, but Hanks is of course outstanding. Also, knowing many folks like Otto...the movie hit close to home.

For fellow New Yorkers (I do think it's maybe playing in LA too), the new documentary on Gottlieb and Caro is playing in the city.

Just went to see "Babylon." Chalk me up as one who loved it.

It will be a movie I'm going to go back to rewatch multiple times. 3:09 run time, and I was transported the entire time.

    Margot Robbie was fantastic.

I loved that overcooked accent, especially reading he based on it on that southern apologist from Ken Burns' Civil War documentary with all the idiotic anecdotal stories.

Finally watched two films over holidays I had put off because of length: Everything Everywhere All at Once and ELVIS.

EEAAO goes in my top 10 favorite of all time. What an achingly beautiful film. I didn't know anything about the story going in, and was reduced to tears by the climax.

ELVIS is awesome. As a fan of Elvis since I was about 10, it was a tough watch, as I knew it centered around Elvis' relationship with his money-sucking manager. Some very tough scenes. But man, did cast and crew do an awesome job.

Saw Turn Every Page last night and it's fantastic. If you've read any of Caro's work it's a must-watch, and even if you haven't it's worth your time. Great look at two icons in their field and their relationship.
