He already is a heel. We pretty much have a heel vs. heel match. He may get some cheers just because nobody can stand the other heels.

The Republicans couldn't even handle ordering for a pizza party.

Loyalty remains a one-way street for Trump.

According to Wiki, these are the Republicans who have been in the House since 2003. I chose 20 as the cutoff to see which reps. might be eyeing retirement and might be more amenable to changing their votes to a consensus, non-McCarthy pick.
    • Hal Rogers, Ky. (42 years)
    • Chris Smith, N.J. (42)
    • Fred Upton, Mich. (36)
    • Ken Calvert, Calif. (30)
    • Frank Lucas, Okla. (29)
    • Robert Aderholt, Ala. (26)
    • Kevin Brady, S.D. (26)
    • Kay Granger, Texas (26)
    • Mike Simpson, Idaho (24)
    • Sam Graves, Missouri (22)
    • Joe Wilson, S.C. (22)
    • Mike Rogers, Ala. (20)
    • Mario Diaz-Balart, Fla. (20)
    • Mike Turner, Ohio (20)
    • Tom Cole, Okla. (20)
    • Michael C. Burgess, Texas (20)
    • John Carter, Texas (20)
Mike Rogers will be in leadership if McCarthy wins. Joe Wilson is the “you lie!” guy. Hal Rogers, IIRC, used to chair Armed Services. They're out.

Can you think of five on that remaining list who would flip to Jeffries or someone else? I can’t. Maybe you promise Smith and Upton many bridges to nowhere. Still gotta get three others.

You KNOW there is some reah House of Cards level stuff going on with McCarthy "loyalists" secretly encouraging the Freedom-types to keep it up until McCarthy gives in.

I wonder, did anyone ever earnestly read this book?

Let's not forget that burst of glory in 2016-2018 where the GOP controlled all 3 branches and couldn't get anything done except that trillion dollar tax cut with marginalia and ZERO public hearings on the bill. This iteration of the GOP is political stalemate at its worst.

Recall it's the same Trump that pushed his way ahead of QEII.

One of our country’s leading authorities on the Constitution doesn’t know that the Speaker of the House has no authority over the National Guard?

I never even went to law school and I know the speaker can’t refuse a president’s National Guard deployment.
