I agree the public will forget *this* but at the same time this is happening because the GOP stands for nothing and courted batshit crazy dumbfucks as a way to secure this tiny majority, and this shitshow is just the very first of what will be many, many examples of disasters that await in the next two years, and there’s some chance the public remembers that.

Alabama turned down Medicaid. The deal was that if the state came up with a billion dollars in funding, they would get $18 billion more in federal funding.

The guys in the Alabama lege, if you offered them 18 to one matching they'd be selling everything they own and renting out their wives and daughters, but hell, no, they didn't want any of that socialist medicine. As a result, rural hospitals have closed all over the state. As the saying goes here when the discussion turns to how the state ranks nationwide, "Thank God for Mississippi".

 

Well, the actual quote was that "the Democrats are bringing popcorn, blankets, and alcohol onto the House floor". I'd think a simple camera pan across the House floor as an establishing shot would go a long way toward confirming or denying this allegation.
