But, on the Pitt topic, TCU just took out Baylor in Waco. First time the Frogs have beaten an AP-ranked team on the road.

IMO, Pitt should have treated Jamie Dixon better. Big mistake. Good for Dixon and TCU.

Agreed. I think Dixon is now starting to get the credit within the fanbase that he deserved in the first place. His problem is that the program was so good that fans started to take it for granted, so much so that when things started slipping under him there was backlash.

That said, I don’t think he was happy with the decision to move to the ACC or the switch from adidas to Nike. Both made it harder for him to recruit, and when he couldn’t adapt he started bringing in more grad transfers than four year guys in some recruiting classes.

Regardless, He should be honored in some way by the school.

And they still rallied for the road win.

Chris Beard fired. Follow-up tweet said it was for cause.

The only additional information I have seen is that he's being fired.

Cases like this make me think "cameras on every officer" is coming sooner rather than later. The public interest for them in domestic cases is going to spur things as much as police brutality concerns. Also, as mentioned in the Cops Gone Rogue thread, it's going to be a CYA measure for departments to fight increasing insurance rates.

FWIW, my guess is that UT gathered more info on him that forced their hand.

Either that or someone up the food chain decided that the victim recanting her story to protect the coach's job was a bad look.

My buddy is friends with who he describes as "the Tom Hagen over at UT Austin" and asked him if he sent lowlifes to coerce a retraction. He said the guy smiled, said he had nothing to do with it, and then said he couldn't control what boosters did.
