A buddy posted this from Capitola (just south of Santa Cruz)

Best of luck to the California contingent and those with loved ones there.

That Monterey Bay landmark the SS Palo Alto, aka the Cement Ship.

Those images definitely have an Atlantic hurricane feel to them. That's a lot of water to take out that many sections of pier. And Capitola Beach State Park is underwater.

We had enough wind, if we were in the gulf or Atlantic, it would have been a named storm

After our bomb cyclone last week, we’ve been pelted with rain including a nice atmospheric river overnight Sunday into Monday. Our creeks are getting mighty impressive. And then there’s the 101 River

Alabama SJers, y’all OK today? Seeing reports of supercell tornados over there.

Quite a few tornadoes south of here, but oddly they were in an embedded line and not supercells. That usually makes for less powerful twisters, but apparently Greensboro and Selma got rocked hard, and possibly Alexander City as well.

Just had a nasty storm blow through Upstate South Carolina. Hail and 60 mph winds.
