Virginia Tech's season has gone completely off the rails with Cattoor's injury. They're 0-4 without him and now have to play three straight on the road -- Syracuse, Virginia, Clemson. He only averages 9.1 ppg but he's the glue to that entire offensive operation. Bummer, because I think Tech is the sort of team when at full strength can make some noise in March. Don't think they'll have the opportunity unless they can put together another miracle run in the ACCT.

    How bad is South Carolina?

Tennessee could have gone scoreless in the second half . . . and still would have won.

Even worse payback coming in September. :)

Delayed reaction ... but Rutgers beats undefeated Purdue AT Purdue? Funny.

A year after Rutgers beat Purdue in Jersey when the Boilers were No. 1.

Rutgers’ venue is now Jersey Mike’s Arena. Does it have a nickname yet?

Northwestern up by double digits in Bloomington. That cannot have happened many times in the history of either program.

Drive I-25 north from Cheyenne to about Buffalo, Wyoming. You will not wonder if you fell off the planet's cliff. You will have no doubt you have fallen off the cliff.

For those of you that have never gone to Wyoming I offer the following. Yellowstone Park in the northwestern corner is a wonder of the world. Teton National Park directly to the south is majestic.

Calling most of the rest of the state a wasteland overstates its charms.

The Medicine Bows/Cheyenne/Laramie area, the Wind River Range is nice, as are the Sheridan area and the Flaming Gorge. You won't make a high-plains drive any nicer than 287 between Fort Collins and Laramie.

But otherwise, yes, a lot of wide-open ugly.

A little Palestra action is always nice ... Purdue-Penn State on BTN right now.

Great move for Micah Shrewsberry bringing the game to Philly; he needs to own that recruiting ground.

Penn State up 31-27 late in the first half. They don't have anybody to check Edey, but they do have a puncher's chance.

The fact that Jalen Pickett was not on the Wooden watch list indicates that they compile that list more by reputation than by actual current performance.

Kentucky failing to get right in its get-right game; down 10 at the half to South Carolina in Rupp.

South Carolina already has scored as much as they scored all game last Saturday. :)
