Agreed. I will carve out time for the Jags/Chargers, Vikings/Giants and Bucs/Cowboys. With Monday being a holiday, I'm sure I'll sprinkle a taste on Bengals/Ravens while sipping a bevvy just to keep it interesting. But the early games on Saturday and Sunday, blech.

Brief summary of my thoughts on this round.
Seahawks-49ers: Atmospheric River has to have a very big game for Seattle to even stay close
Chargers-Jaguars: Could be an OK game
Dolphins-Bills: See above post. Likeliest rout of the round
Giants-Vikings: Not enough interest to form an opinion.
Ravens-Bengals: Wouldn't like Baltimore in this game even if Jackson were playing
Cowboys-Buccaneers: Oh, God no, please. Reboot of two Cinematic Universes the world is already sick of. It's possible ESPN will not report on the first five games in order to shove in more hype for this one. Two possible outcomes. Dallas 41-6 or Tampa Bay 24-23.

Giants-Vikings might actually be the best game of the weekend. The regular-season meeting was close. The Giants scored a touchdown and two-point conversion late to tie it, then the Vikings won it with a 61-yard field goal in the final seconds. I see no reason why it won't be an even matchup again.

The sad part about Dolphins-Bills is both regular-season games were close and they split them, but that was when Miami had a quarterback. The Bills beat the hell out of the Steelers in the regular season, but I am absolutely certain the rematch would have been better than what we will see this weekend.

The Giants have actually turned into a fun watch. Daniel Jones isn't an elite quarterback by any stretch, but he's competent and is downright dangerous on 3rd and reasonable when they can run him. His legs are a major weapon. He's gotten by with a pretty scrappy bunch of unspectacular receivers. And Daboll has really impressed me, might already be a top-five coach in the league. Add that in with prime Kirk pissing down his leg time (i.e., not 1 p.m.), and that game should be a lot of fun. Jefferson has been pretty quiet the last two weeks, and I can see him having a big game here.

    From the original post:

For those who imbibe, this list of terms for being drunk is pretty fun. My favorite: He has more sail than ballast. But Jacksonville fans will certainly have an elegant jag on should their team beat the Chargers Saturday. All times local.

I’m with you. I’ve heard of jagoffs, but never “jag on.”

I also have no idea who or what “Atmospheric River” might be.
