I was at Pink's March 4, 1973, show at the Dane County Coliseum. Still my most memorable concert.

When I was a pt board op in 1995, my boss back then went and saw Pink Floyd at the old Mile High Stadium. Said it was off the charts.

In fact……I found the set list for it.

I saw the band a couple times in ballpark/stadium settings as well -- Milwaukee County Stadium in '75 and Soldier Field in '77. The Soldier Field show was massively oversold, I remember having a postage stamp of space on the field.

I had a good snort at this Wikipedia entry:
I would think Paul Carrack is noted for something else.

Today's drive was 650 miles, Springfield Mo to Tucumcari. Listened to 1st Wave on Sirius 33 the whole way. It's amazing how many great songs the bands I grew up with actually had i.e. INXS, Police, U2, Thompson Twins, Talking Heads, Pet Shop Boys, Pretenders, Echo and the Bunnymen, Elvis Costello, Erasure, Smiths/Morrissey, Depeche Mode, New Order, and several others.

I was not, at all, whatsoever into The Ramones but have grown to like this song during the first 2,000 miles of this trip.

Curious. What did you have in mind? He played in a number of bands, had hits with several as a vocalist, wrote many songs that did well, played as a studio musician.

I can't think of something he's "noted" for above all else, maybe the Squeeze vocals?

I would guess that he's best known for singing "Tempted" with Squeeze, although "The Living Years" was a much bigger hit.
