If I had known Keyontae Johnson had transferred to K-State, I’d have invested a tidy sum in the over on Wildcats season wins.

 

Teams only get four timeouts for the entire game. One must be used in the first half, or it goes away.

Maybe it just seems like they have eight.

 

What happens is they often save three for the last couple of minutes, plus all the fouls to catch up, plus that’s when the window opens for officials reviews.

 

Eight media timeouts per game means teams never have to bother taking any except in final two minutes.

 

It’s those late timeouts that make the last two minutes as long as the previous 18. Or at least it seem like it.

 

Took at least 10 minutes, maybe slightly more, to kill off the last 2-3 minutes of Ole Miss-South Carolina, a bottom feeder game where the Rebels were in command with a double digit lead the whole way. Even the studio hosts commented that they “killed the fill” (which probably wasn’t a bright thing to say leading into Alabama’s game.)

 

Waiting until you come back from the under 16 timeout to broach the topic of a player from one of the teams getting arrested for capital murder is one hell of a choice.

Self fucked himself with that timeout at the exact moment his guy (38 points) was shooting a 3, nothing but net, that would've made it a 4 point lead. Timeout granted, still just a 1 point lead. That was the ballgame.
