It's the only thing that will keep him in Congress. If McCarthy refused to seat him, any Democrat would win that seat in a special election in a walk after everything that's gone on. McCarthy only has a four-vote edge now. He's not going to lose 25 percent of his advantage. By now Santos has promised to vote with the MAGAs on every single issue. This motherfucker isn't going anywhere unless they find him in the cloakroom going down on a male page.

I’d want to GTFO after the trainwreck of the past few weeks. If he was the one scheming up the press office’s game plan re: the docs, he should go.

 

Only way “Santos” vacates the seat is if he finds himself “jumping” out of a window. That’d be too obvious.

 

Expect to read stories about Biden's "Delaware Mafia" in the coming weeks. Biden has a team of people who have been with him forever. I imagine they play the same role that Valerie Jarrett played for Obama. Klain is a longtime DC guy who helps make things work. It will be interesting to see who comes in next, because that will be telling.

 

Klain has been with Biden since his days in the Senate. Maybe he’s not Delaware Mafia, but he’s just a half-step removed.

IMHO, the most competent person through two years of the Biden administration has been Jen Psaki. She knows her shit.

 

But I think the mishandling of the docs story - and apparently not giving KJP the whole story and making a messy story messier - is the root of this resignation.
