    I think I'll steal that for a headline . . . if I don't forget come June.

The first part of this post did not age well.

Two American men fighting for a spot in the quarterfinals and ESPN is showing analysis of the women's draw, both over the past week and looking ahead.

Great chance to actually cover American success, and ESPN fails miserably.

It's been 20 years since Sampras' and Agassi's last Grand Slams. And it'll be 20 years this year since Roddick won the U.S. Open and it looked he'd be the next big thing. Hard to believe.

Probably not a coincidence that Federer's first Grand Slam was 20 years ago this year as well, with Nadal getting his first in 2005 and Djokovic in 2008.

I'm not sure of all the ins and outs, but ESPN is not in Australia. They depend on this "world" feed that I guess they have little control over.

There’s a much better chance the women’s winner will be an American than the men’s.

The two Americans, one of whom looks like Sam Bradford and the other looks like a lite version of Kenny Powers, are going to a fifth.

    Women's quarterfinalists by seed
    3, 5, 17, 22, 24, 30, unseeded, unseeded

    Men's quarterfinals by seed
3, 4, 5, 18, 29, unseeded, unseeded, unseeded (guaranteed an unseeded player will reach semifinals)

Not coincidentally, also guaranteed an American man will make the semis.

I’d like to be wrong about this, but I don’t see anyone left who can beat Djoker.

    Well so much for Pegula

Didn’t see the match (I’m not THAT hard core), but the score looks like it was not pretty.

Pegula has now made the quarters in four of the past five majors and five times in her career, but has yet to reach a semifinal. Has she hit her ceiling?

Just big claps for Vika, to do this now at this stage of her career. Would love to see her win the Aussie again.
