One thing I learned last night is Jelena Ostapenko is apparently a crazy lady.

Apart from the silly faces she makes while hitting shots and the constant complaining to about computer-generated line calls, here are some of the things said about her during her match by the commentators:

    "She's nutty as a fruitcake."

"I wonder how many people she's cheated in practice."

"She's got to be really hard to coach."

I guess Yoda would say "the hook is large with that one." [tennis saying when someone is calling their lines and cheats its a hook.]

Who told Magda Linette she could play?

30 years old, never cracked the top 30 in the rankings, never made it past the third round in a major (and has only gotten that far five times in 29 previous starts). Rolls into Australia ranked 45th.

But she’s now beaten four seeds in a row, including No. 4 Caroline Garcia, and just polished off Pliskova to get to the semis.

ESPN just flashed a great stat on the bottom of the screen.

Ben Shelton has held serve in his past 59 service games. The last time he was broken was in the first game of his second-round match against Nicolas Jarry. He then held the last 17 service games of that match (won 7-6, 7-6, 7-5), all 16 against Alexei Popyrin (6-3, 7-6, 6-4), and all 26 in his five-set win over J.J. Wolf (6-7, 6-2, 6-7, 7-6, 6-2).

ESPN needs a proofreader for its graphics. So far tonight, I've noticed misspellings of Sabalenka and quarterfinal.

Weird stuff happens south of the border. That's how I approach it.

I love Shelton -- he's so much fun and has so many ways to win points. But Tommy Paul has been an absolute machine in the this match.

She still has a chance to win her first major title -- she and Gauff just breezed into the women's doubles semis with a 6-1, 6-1 rout.

No one is beating Djokovic in this tournament unless he trips and breaks a leg (or some similar disaster) or shows up for a match drunk.

I get to steal it sooner than I thought, thanks to Rybakina's victory.

"Wimbledon champion enjoying another fab fortnight." :)
