A bunch of teachers, myself included, are currently in a pissed off mood for the second straight year, it looks like we are going to leave snow days on the table. Snow days are built in, so those are extra days we work and don't get paid. I gave the county $1,000 of free labor last year.
I honestly don't care if we are out for snow, flooding, temperature, sickness, whatever... I want my days or my money.

Snow days are a thing of the past thanks to Covid. All the schools here just “pivot to remote learning.”

We actually had a snow day here last week.

Everything I have is online on a nice daily calendar: assignments, activities, and lectures. I have it set up to auto grade and give feedback. So if we are out for snow, there may be some remote learning, but the remote teaching is already done.
Heck, if I keel over dead today, they wouldn't have to replace me through the end of the year.

Knowing today's students, they'd just step over your body and sleep until the bell rings for the next period.

Cheer up. There’s still tornado season.

It's funny you say that because the one day we've gotten this year was because of high winds, not snow. It was clocked at 80-85 mph about the time busses would have been running, so they called us off for the day.

Lots o' thunder and lightning this morning ... as the sleet poured down.

Good luck, Doc. Hope you keep your power. Nothing fun about freezing in the dark.

Fucking A. They've already announced Wednesday is another remote learning day for our schools. More ice tonight and now they're saying a fourth round will hit Wednesday night just before midnight - which will probably wipe out school on Thursday.

But it's supposed to be in the mid-60s on Tuesday.

I'm in one of my weather-related "don't give a crap" funks.
According to the local weather, we saw the sun three days in January.
It has been 35-45 degrees and raining almost daily. You can't walk across the yard without tracking mud, dead grass and dead leaves back into the house.
    We haven't had any snow.
Today, the first day of February, woke up to 36 and raining.
