He's not claiming he was misquoted. He claims that Woodward and the publisher didn't have the right to use the audio from the interviews in the audiobook. Like it says in the article linked.

What's the state of fedruhl law re: background checks? Are they required? As someone who hates guns, I really don't know.
Trumpists want gun deaths for the same reason they want to crash the economy: because they can affix blame to whomever they want. In the case of gun deaths, they'll mention all the races they hate and ignore killings by whites. In the case of the economy, they'll blame libruhls and ignore the fact that their klan voted for tax cuts that helped engineer the current instability.

I didn't even look at it. Woodward is an old hand at this game. I'd bet his ass is covered. Trumps just flinging shit and forcing Woodward/CNN to pay for lawyers he can use his PAC to pay for.

'I Can't Wait for This Guy to Die':
    Atlantic Writer Relays GOP Insiders'
Lack of Strategy to Purge Trump

“One former Republican congressman described this strategy to me as actuarial arbitrage, and literally said he has spoken to many Republicans who will put on the red hat and campaign for Trump and go up on stage with him, and then the next day say, ‘I can’t wait for this guy to die.’ That’s a direct quote,” he added.

“I thought it was kind of a morbid, dark joke at first,” Coppins said. “But I heard it so often that it started to become clear this was actually what a lot of Republicans believe. And it just speaks to the desperation in the party right now.”

This is unintentionally hilarious. You think, for a moment, that Simon & Schuster and Bob Woodward don't have their bases covered?

There's dust in their bookstacks smarter than SPC and his "lawyers."

Yes, because this is a totally normal thing to do.

Brazil's former president Jair Bolsonaro has applied for a six-month US tourist visa, his lawyer has told the BBC.
Mr Bolsonaro has been staying in Florida since 30 December.
The former president plans to stay in the US while immigration officials process the visa.
He is under investigation in Brazil after rioters stormed key government buildings early this month.
Mr Bolsonaro has voiced "regret" for the unrest, but denies he caused it.

If the case gets handed to a Trump judge, all bets are off.

Here's the thing about Trump and 40 years of his nuisance lawsuits. They rarely proceed.

He gets the front page headline saying he's SUING for a YUGE sum.

    YUGE!

20 weeks from now, when the poorly written, comically groundless suit is tossed out, it'll be on the bottom of page 4.

    Mission accomplished.

On the very rare occasion his libel / defamation-style suits proceed, he loses.

At this point, I suspect the exact opposite happens.

I strongly suspect most people see Trump suing (or threatening to sue) someone, and they're like, "Same old bullshit."
