    Or maybe the building owner should look to replace something that’s 70 years old already. Maybe even something a bit more -gasp- energy efficient. There comes a point where they just don’t make parts for the old stuff anymore.

    DeSantis Takes On the Education Establishment, and Builds His Brand

    On Tuesday, Governor DeSantis, a Republican, took his most aggressive swing yet at the education establishment, announcing a proposed overhaul of the state’s higher education system that would eliminate what he called “ideological conformity.” If enacted, courses in Western civilization would be mandated, diversity and equity programs would be eliminated, and the protections of tenure would be reduced.

    jfc is right.

    I know that kind of Orwellian Florida isn't a reality yet. ... but I didn't read the story. Would his idiotic reach go beyond the state school system there, or is this for private universities too? Aside from the signaling he is going for, he can't possibly believe that kind of shit would pass any amount of judicial scrutiny.
