    Bunch of stuff:
    “How Long” - Ace
    “Tempted” - Squeeze
“The Living Years” - Mike + The Mechanics
Other stuff from the Mechanics such as “Over My Shoulder” and “Silent Running” for starters.

Cool shirt … but I find it funny that some 20-somethings find cassettes to be cool in a retro kind of way.

Those of us who were there know their sound quality was horrible, the tape would get stuck in your car stereo, the heads would get misaligned and produce a wobbly sound, and it was difficult to advance or rewind them to find the song you wanted.

Oh, and the album cover art was tiny and virtually none of the inner sleeve information was included with a cassette.

Other than that, they were great!

Every time I see something about the cassette "revival" my eyes just about roll out of my head. (And I say that as a guy who got fully back into vinyl about ten years ago. Thankfully I kept all my old records.)

Yes, cassettes were awful. Bad quality. Easily damaged. Generally poorly produced.

They had two giant advantages over vinyl -- portability and the ability to make a mixtape -- and CDs blew them away on both counts.

And as a devoted vinyl nerd I will say this: the CD has become wildly underrated. They're dirt cheap now.

All true, but I still had a scad of them. I remember the first cassette stereo I put in my car. All it had was an AM radio until then. There was a pretty damn good rock station in Atlanta at that time, but it had a sunrise to sunset license. Once the sun went down it was Top 40, ugh. I remember how surreal it was the first few times that I went under interstate bridges and the song I was listening to kept right on playing instead of being interrupted.

    Yeah, I'm old.

I’m old enough to remember my Dad’s early 1970s LTD, which we had through the mid-80s. A big brown boat with an AM only radio … until he got one of those FM adapters, which I recall being powered via the cigarette lighter!

Car dashboards and interior features have changed a bit since then …
