What matters is if he’s getting paid on the back end. That’s where the real money is in a popular film.

They are talking about what he made in 2014 for Whiplash, not Top Gun

That was what he took home after taxes.

It was the second movie he did, after Project X.

Reportedly his salary was $3.5 million for Top Gun

He did Whiplash after Rabbit Hole, Footloose and The Spectacular Now - which were all pretty major releases. I know actors take pay cuts to help get a film made or if they think it will help their careers - (Demi Moore did this very well and it made her a star) - In any event - I looked up what SAG rates are for actors in 2022, so I guess $8k makes sense on a low budget film from 10 years ago. Interesting stuff.

Anybody going to see a movie like Cocaine Bear expecting anything but terrible is kidding themselves. The hope should be that it is the entertaining sort of terrible.

I'm going into it expecting a good time. And I think it will deliver.

Is Road House a cinematic masterpiece? You're goddamned right it is! (it's not)

Elizabeth Banks and Keri Russell were on "The Today Show" to promote "Cocaine Bear," and it seemed highly awkward for all parties involved. Probably not a ton of overlap between the potential audiences there, but then again, I was watchin' it.
