Three back-to-back eps of The Equalizer? I'm sure I'll be tuning in to that!

Found these in the attic recently. The Philadelphia Eagles of my youth. If you've never heard of most of these guys, you're not alone. This is why I cherish every time this team reaches the Super Bowl.

What is this patriotic crap about the flag? Is it a signal that we’re not afraid of the aliens?

Did Brady even make an appearance during the pre-game?

Well, pretty sure I called this one with Hamlin's staffers a few weeks ago.

Before Super Bowl 50 they had all the MVPs on the field and he was there. So at least that.

There’s no crying at the Super Bowl… pregame.

    Fir gucks sake.

Nice bit of sideline reporting by Tom Rinaldi set that up, though. He said Nick Sirianni had told him about listening to Whitney Houston's national anthem and envisioning himself on the sideline at the Super Bowl, and that hearing the anthem was when it would probably hit him that he'd actually made it there. So hearing that anecdote and seeing that shot ... yeah, it got a little dusty in here, too.

I visited Philadelphia the summer of 1977, the year they signed Jaworski in the offseason. Preseason was a few days away. There was a commercial with Jaworski and Bill Bergey on local TV for some fast food place.

Bergey gets his order, and Jaworski immediately swipes a burger from his tray.

Bergey gives Jaws a mean look and says, "You BETTER be good."

It’s that time of year when I again say the red white and blue jingoistic dick waiving is over the top.
