    You can attribute whatever you want to me. You're wrong. My view isn't that "everyone is a piece of shit," but way to try to frame me. There are plenty of presidents during my lifetime "whose economics I disagreed with," or more accurately, their ideologies. And I hold all of them except Donald Trump and Richard Nixon in higher regard as people than Jimmy Carter. I didn't say anything about his "economics." It has zero to do with what I was saying about the man.

    @The Big Ragu is not remotely off-base in noting that Carter's halo is a post-presidency development. As Carter made his way toward the White House he was not particularly beloved -- for the peevishness/churlishness/temper/etc. @The Big Ragu mentioned.

    I keep searching for a pic of Carter and Jimmy Buffett, but I can't come up with one. I know Buffett was onboard.
    The crazy thing is Charlie Daniels campaigned for Carter but somehow took a heel turn.
