Could the unthinkable happen -- lower broadcast/streaming fees to teams results in reduced player salaries? Alas, what of Scott Boras?

I’d certainly think it would put a chill in any expansion talk.

... or, does expansion talk heat up with current owners needing their share of an expansion-fee pie?

Discovery has RSN's in Seattle, Denver/Utah, Seattle and Houston. The Rockies and Pirates are noted as frugal in their spending habits. I don't think whoever the new carrier is will be paying as much so I think you will see these teams spending less.

Might at least one of them be frugal because of a lack of revenue?

The significant broadcast fees are coming from the big dogs tho…. The national games, not the regional every day carriers. Not sure those are going down at all

    re: ^^^^

    From the NextTV.com article:
"Digital distribution can’t replace the 10% to 30% of overall revenue teams receive from their RSN deals with Diamond."

Not trying to characterize "significant," Just citing the 10 percent to 30 percent figure to try to add to the conversation.
