I got news for you, in my 21 yrs of education I had to write many papers I didn’t believe in. Let’s start with the “great” victories over the native Americans or the Japanese Internment.

Today, in papers Nalen Haley wants to write: "Slavery? Never happened." Next semester, "The Civil War? The South won!", followed by his senior seminar on "How the World War II internment camps were really a blessing for Asian-Americans."

Thanks for this post. Your insights into the medical fields are always so invaluable on our site. :)

And it probably explains a lot about what I went through with some various prescription pills that, after regular sustained use, I thought were bullshit. I guess the doctors were forcibly bound to the insurance companies to much extent, and that is the horribly stupid reality of corporate control of the personal issues we all face at some point.

My best little story here: I guess Tamsulosin must be the go-to pill in the MediPharmaDoctor universe, but for a guy whose reliance on that pill (for prostate issues) proved to be the arrival of my certified status as a geezer, I had questions about the way Tamsulosin worked for me, and the side effects were ... annoying. So I jumped on the InterWebs for a few days, cross-referencing every good source I found (Mayo Clinic, Johns Hopkins, some others) and then I told my doctor what I found. And it helped greatly that he knew I was a newsroom editor, so by that point he trusted my "research" abilities.

Anyway, once I ditched Tamsulosin, the apparent Big Pharma mandate for geezer pissing disorders, everything got better for me in that area. And the kicker is the best part: The recommended, alternative "off-label" pill I found through my Internet "research" is ... ... ... Cialis. Just a small dose, 5 mg a day. At that minor dose I don't walk around with a boner every day, but, thankfully, I no longer feel the need to piss every 20 minutes, which was kinda sorta embarrassing back when I worked in an office setting instead of this Covid-inspired remote house-arrest desert.

So, never ignore your ability to research what you can.
It's the best reason the Internet has evolved to this point.

    Also: Fuck Tamsulosin!

    Completely agree.

But that assumes that thinking and an attitude of gratitude exists with many of them.
