Disagree. In the final 45 seconds of regulation, the Spartans committed one turnover and went 5-for-6 from the foul line. Hard to be much better offensively. At least 2 of Iowa’s 5 3FG were well defended. Again, that’s normally sufficient with a 10-point lead.

So? I don't think any of the coaches who want a tournament because it could save their job would tell you it's likely. But the fact that there's been one in 65 percent of the NCAA tournaments played since it expanded to 64 teams (24 in 37 years, right? check my math) shows it's doable, and not uncommon.

Yeah, I watched the last few minutes of that game and didn't think Michigan State played poorly.

Nevada's at-large hopes just took a huge hit, lost to last-place Wyoming.

    Yeah, yeah ...

    Point of view, etc. ...

In one part of this state, he helped a school gain some athletic credibility, not to mention classing up the place a bit.

In many other parts of this state, he was the man who recruited Ralph Sampson and pretty much put the University of Virginia basketball program on the map.

Regardless of one's point of view, a big loss for athletics and humanity. RIP, good sir and Thank You.

I think I read he was only 27 when he took over from Lefty at Davidson? That's incredible.

When Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles, there was talk of holding Final Fours there. Well, it's open ended on north and south end.
We were there for a Rams season ticket event on Saturday while it was raining. Small drops of rain make it thru the plexiglass planes of the roof and out to the field. That's a no-go for holding a basketball game there.
