Didn't realize Richard Wright wrote a large part of Dark Side. Sadly, his contributions got squeezed out over time and only appeared as a session player on "Momentary."

I honestly think that album sucked on purpose. Right in the middle of the suit……I think both sides just said screw it…..whatever we have now will suffice…..
That album always felt like one continuous book.

I always seem to be on the other side of The Final Cut argument. "Not Now John" and "The Final Cut" are two of my fave Floyd songs.

 

My problem with Wish You Were Here is Shine On You Crazy Diamond should have been an album to itself. Welcome to the Machine, Wish You Were Here and Have a Cigar are great tracks that all flow nicely together. They all complement each other in their messages. And to an extent SOYCD does also when you chop it down to the vocals, but the whole nine parts (as they call it) is an outlier on the album. It's beautifully done and I love listening to it on its own, but I don't like the album as a whole nearly as much as I like DSOTM.

 

Gilmour might go to Waters' funeral just to make sure he's dead.
