    correct on Mason.
Gilmour is always amazing to me playing guitar. His work sounds the same from the late 60’s to the song he did with the Ukrainian guy last year.

Um……just about EVERY Pink Floyd album cover is trippy.

Also, it’s the last album with the band photographed on the cover.

When the Tigers Broke Free was a very hard to find 45 that was featured in The Wall, the movie.

On a side note, I may be the only person in the US who saw The Wall, The Movie in a theater not because of Pink Floyd, but because Bob Geldof was in it.

    Money

The bass line is always there. All the things going on around it that you even forget about it. But it’s always there.

After all the beautiful solos, the sound stops and bass is still there. Almost like a metaphor for money.

I'm disappointed that Comfortably Numb never became a hit single. On the other hand I can imagine it wedged in with all the yacht rock playlists of the time.

Before I got there, a previous tenant had painted the Dark Side cover art on the back fence of my college bungalow.

I've never been a Floyd freak, but I saw Roger Waters at MSG in the Eighties -- animal balloons, the Wall movie, the whole magilla. He also brought Clare Torry along to sing Great Gig in the Sky, and I still consider that one of the great concert moments of my life.

On one hand, it'd be nice if those who have gotten into the band since their heyday could see the band perform once. On the other, you sort of have to respect guys who hate each other enough to turn down the most obscene and plentiful of fuck you money.

Even if they were on speaking terms, I believe Gilmour and Mason have said it wouldn't be right to do it without Wright.

The Wall came out when I was in sixth grade. Our gym teacher was in her mid 20s and really pretty. The boys had crushes on her and the girls wanted to grow up and be like her. She and her husband went to see Floyd on The Wall tour and our class was in awe. She smuggled in a camera and took some grainy photos that we all thought were the coolest thing ever. I asked for The Wall for Chanukah that year and still have that original vinyl.

And you've also got to respect that. Sort of ironic that the only other bands to really declare they can't go on without everyone alive and well are Rush and the Beastie Boys, both of whom seemed to like each other as much as the members of Pink Floyd hate/hated each other.

I believe that would have been '75.

When I was in high school in 1969-70, some of us hippie wannabes used to congregate in the library to share our newest LPs on the library's headphone-equipped stereo system. One guy brought in "Ummagumma." This song stuck with me.
