I know the other driver was very drunk.

I’m going to guess this applies to everyone in both cars.

I'm not going to assume he was drunk or even drinking, that's a tough assumption to make because there are plenty of sober people that love to drive cars fast and reckless. They were racing. He was charged for racing and being reckless, rightfully so. The victims of the crash didn't die because Carter drove his car fast. They died because they drove their car fast.

It's an unfortunate outcome for sure, but there's nothing that I can see that would make Carter responsible for the actions of the people in the other vehicle. They were all being young, dumb and reckless.

He was responsible for leaving the scene.

They had just left a strip club at around 2:30 a.m., while celebrating after the victory parade. I'd say the chances he'd been drinking are pretty damn high.

Unless they took blood, breath or urine at the scene, "high chances" don't mean much in the legal sense.

He's going to fall a few spots because of this and cost himself a couple mil. Short of having him on camera drinking multiple drinks that night, while also giving drinks to the other guy, he's not really legally responsible for the other drunk guy's decision to drag race. The talent is too high for him to not go in the top 10.

And he returned between an hour and 90 minutes later. Not enough time to get liquor out of his system without some heavy science. Plenty of time for authorities to run tests and get results.
