I’m mystified at your equivalence of censorship to being blackballed. In McCarthyism it went way beyond censoring someone’s opinions and thoughts, people were deprived of the right to work.

 

These days, when someone is "canceled" - a D-list celebrity or social media person - they seem to become more famous and start becoming bigger stars in conservative circles.
