Wilt doesn't get to 100 without the underhand free throw (of which he made 28 of 32 that game).

And he quit doing it the next season.

Season-ending update on Eastern Michigan's Emoni Bates - In 30 games, he started 29 and averaged 19.2 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. That said, EMU finished 8-23 overall and 5-13 in the Mid-American Conference, good (or bad...) for a three-way tie for ninth place, one game out of the MAC tournament, but also one game out of last place (12th). With Emoni and several other touted recruits, the season was a dud, which doesn't bode well for coach Stan Heath.

The question is what's next for Emoni: Stay at EMU or go pro?

The New York Times did a good story on Emoni: https://www.nytimes.com/2023/03/02/sports/ncaabasketball/emoni-bates-nba-basketball.html

Edit: Emoni was named to the all-Mid-American Conference third team by the coaches.

I'm going to predict it right now: U-C-L-A all the way.

The Bruins have the big edge in experience with 10-year veterans Jaime Jaquez and Tyger Campbell.

I think he shot less than 40% from the field. I know he had some horrific games.

The Big Ten is primed once again to get a bushel of teams into the field and have all of them bow out by the Elite 8. I'll take special delight in seeing which double-digit seed takes out Purdue.

If Pudue can't hit outside shots, a top-level high school team might beat it.
