    Let Chat GPT tell you...

Please answer as a sports researcher SME ... Joe Lunardi published a March Madness bracket prediction before the 2019 NCAA tournament. How correct was he?

Joe Lunardi is a well-known sports analyst and college basketball expert who is known for his expertise in predicting the NCAA tournament bracket. In 2019, he published his final bracket prediction on ESPN just hours before the selection committee announced the official bracket.

Overall, Lunardi was very accurate with his predictions. He correctly predicted 67 of the 68 teams that would make the tournament, missing only on St. John's. He also correctly predicted the seed of 40 of the 68 teams, and he correctly predicted 15 of the 16 teams in the Sweet 16 round.

Lunardi's predictions were particularly impressive in the East region, where he correctly predicted the entire Sweet 16 and Elite 8, including Duke's thrilling win over UCF in the second round. He also correctly predicted the Final Four teams of Virginia, Texas Tech, Michigan State, and Auburn.

Overall, Lunardi's bracket prediction for the 2019 NCAA tournament was one of his most accurate in recent years, demonstrating his expertise and knowledge of college basketball.

Edit: I'm way too lazy to fact check Chat GPT here.

Please tell me there’s a Chat GPBracket bot out there somewhere, and that it will be more accurate than Lunardi.

The average Joe Blow could probably pick 65 of the 68 teams every year. There generally are only 2 or 3 selections/omissions that fire people up. Seeding is tougher.

I want the guy who can predict the field on Feb. 28. There’s not a ton of mystery left in the process to make people ooh and ahh over someone’s prediction the morning of March 12.

"The champion of the MAAC tournament, the champion of the Horizon tournament, the champion of the Summit tournament ..."

    Easy peasy!

I think Penn State might be over the hump after beating Illinois. They've been sitting on that bubble for about three weeks.

Micah Shrewsberry could be writing himself a ticket to a big payday. He's taken a team with no inside presence, in a basketball wasteland, and more than held its own against the Big Ten. Their franchise player, Jalen Pickett, is a first-team all-Big Ten guy who will probably never play a minute in the NBA. Classic tweener.

And San Jose State picks up its 20th win, and first in the MW tournament, by beating Nevada in OT. Just in time for Tim Miles to Cal talk season.

Tim Miles spent seven years at Nebraska trying to inflate a punctured tire. Why in God’s name would he want to repeat the headache at Cal?

    They'll be OK.
There's an insane struggle in the middle of the ACC. Everybody says NC State is in, yet they just lost to Dabo U by 14 or more points for the third time this season. And nobody seems willing to say the Fighting Dabos are in. Pitt finished ahead of both of them and was one shot away from being the No. 1 seed in the ACC Tournament.
All benefited when Carolina lost to Virginia. At least there won't be a bid thief in their midst.
