Collateral. Still holds up really well.

Great flick. I'm a big Michael Mann fan (I even liked Blackhat). Collateral is a minimalist masterpiece. Great cast of cameos and supporting characters (Rufffalo, Bardem, Statham, Mann regulars Barry Shabaka Henley and Bruce McGill). One of my favorite films of the century.

Creed III, nice story, good direction. Majors is a compelling actor.

Majors is becoming an actor, for me at least, who I'll watch in pretty much anything. He's tremendous. Just watched him in Devotion.

It’s my favorite adult Cruise movie, and it’s not even close. A character far removed from the hero roles he plays. I imagine that’s Tom’s real hair color.

I finally got around to seeing Quantumania and I enjoyed it for a couple of reasons: Just a pinch over two hours instead of the 2:30 to 3:00 we get with a lot of the Marvel movies, and the film got right to the plot with a minimum of exposition.
I wondered why the producers felt the need to replace the actress who played Cassie in "Endgame," but I thought Kathryn Newton was great in this, and I'm looking forward to seeing her in the MCU from this point forward.
Johnathan Majors was very good (duh) and the middle-of-the-movie cameo was enjoyable.

Tonight, we watched Banshees of Inisherin. Last week, we watched EO. 2022 was not a good year to be a movie donkey.

"See How They Run" : a mildly diverting British import.

I think if you look up polarizing movie in the dictionary, EEAAO would be featured. I can understand why you find it to be "achingly beautiful" and why you were reduced to tears...I can understand, and I'm not one to judge others for being moved by movies, but I'll be damned if I can agree. I found the movie achingly in need of an editor to cut about 30-45 minutes out. And I found the muddled moral story to be completely ineffectual.

In fact, after watching the cloyingly annoying "Daniels" make speech after speech last night, I'm more convinced than ever that the entire movie is a long-con. Raccoonie? Googley eyes? Rocks? Yeah, it's gotta be one long joke on the viewer. One very long joke.

The most interesting thing about Creed III is that Stallone doesn't appear in it nor is his character even mentioned? There's about 20 to 25 minutes of good fight scenes and training montages. The rest is some weepy nonsense about family that a good director could've absolutely made work but alas, is just weepy nonsense here.

The Menu was pretty good. Anya Taylor-Joy stunning as always.

I think that was intentional, wasn't it? I seem to remember Stallone saying he wanted to pass the torch, and the end of Creed II certainly seemed to be his genuine farewell to the character.
As for the description ... that fits a surprising number of Rocky movies.
