FAU doing their best to not gain any new fans with the failed dunk at the end. JFC.

Loved that Jonnell Davis for FAU. What a game.

Apparently the A in FAU stands for”Assholes.”

Go Big Orange in the next round.

Boca is a pretty sweet spot, I’ll say that. Still no sports betting…

Dick move at the end with the dunk, but the coach acknowledged it and it seems like there will be a conversation with Martin a little later.

I like Dusty May. If that was his mentor Bobby Knight, May would have called timeout after the misfired dunk so Martin could try it again.

Well, my kid is not a good SAT taker. So she’s at FAU. At times, we see why on that campus. The cure for cancer is about +50000000000 to come from FAU.

I seriously do not get why it is a dick move to dunk, shoot a 3, do a behind-the-back pass, whatever, in the final seconds of a game. This is at all levels now, even high schoolers are expected to follow this bizarre unwritten edict.

For most of basketball history no one gave a shit and teams just played until the end. Need to do a YouTube deep dive sometime and figure out when this started becoming a thing that we actually care if a team doesn't politely -- and with class -- dribble out the clock. It's especially dumb when it's bench guys who rarely get to play but are expected to grab a rebound with 27 seconds and then slowly dribble up the court and run out the clock instead of launching some shots with their only opportunities. But even when it's starters, WHO CARES?!

One of MJ's most famous college dunks today would have the announcer saying, "Hey, Dean Smith will apologize to Lefty for that one," instead of Mike Patrick exclaiming, "Holy cow!"

The only mistake the Florida Atlantic guy made was botching it. Would have been a sweet finisher.

That said, as a 7-year-old who cried when the Sixers swept my Lakers in 1983, I would like an apology from Maurice Cheeks for his classless dunk at the buzzer. Someone should have clotheslined him, I guess. Or Billy Cunningham should have comforted Pat Riley.

Experience matters, so look for the Tigers to return. (1965)

The thing I've noticed in this tournament, and in college hoops in general lately, is how many and-ones there are, then you watch the replay and there is minimal or no contact at all on the shooter, who often is on some out-of-control charge down the lane to begin with.

I’m convinced half the charges that are called come from the fact the ref gets to make a dramatic arm motion. If the signal was lift your leg and touch your kneecap, there wouldn’t be a dozen or so charging calls seemingly every game.
