Has Mike Reed shared this week’s goal? Is it to make sure his check doesn’t bounce?

Journalism is a tough business these days. It's even tougher if you're stupid.

On Saturday, the local Div III team won to advance to the men's Final Four. At the same time, a D1 mid-major 30 miles away (which is covered by its own small daily and a nearby mid-metro - also Gannett owned) also won its conference tournament.
Our local daily sports page's CP today (no Sunday print) is the mid-major. The local D3 team got a 1 column hed and no art.
Also had a multiple state wrestling championship last night but of course with a 10 am content deadline that won't be in print until Tuesday ... assuming they remember.

New owner says they’re investing in the product… the previous graf mentions they’re switching to mail delivery.

If I am not mistaken, the new owner is the son of the guy who spent years. ... competing against Gannett in Green Bay.

There was a book about his battle with Gannett.

It's 2023, bud. Newspapers aren't the core product.
