    I actually wondered what kind of hotels they would put them in there. One of the things I love the most about Vegas is getting a really nice hotel room and eating good food. The problem is still a lot of the really nice hotel rooms are on the strip and not sure they want their college basketball showcase out there with those temptations. There are some nice, non-casinos right off the strip, though. Seems like something only the NCAA could screw up, especially in the land of hotel rooms that is Vegas.

    Why with all the options in Las Vegas and with it being the NCAA, which as far as I can tell generally does nice hotels for these events, especially the regionals, do they pick the freaking Luxor? I guess no one should be shocked, but still.

    The Golden Nugget wasn't available? I kid.

    It's less than a mile from the arena. UConn is the No. 4 seed and with No. 2 UCLA and No. 3 Gonzaga there, so guessing it got the third-best (second-worst) option? They don't put all the teams in the same hotel so the host committee probably put it out for bid and ranked the winning choices 1-4. Higher seed gets the "better" hotel and so forth.

    And doing a deeper dive. The games are at T-Mobile Arena, an MGM Resorts property, and MGM put in for the bid.

    How Las Vegas landed the NCAA West Regional

    And I'm guessing as part of the bid, the four hotels for teams were MGM properties, of which Luxor is one.
