Running racism in America thread

Industries that build industrial plants always buy land in areas where 1) a parcel of land big enough for their needs is easy to get their hands on, and 2) it is cheaper.

This isn't happening because somebody in government sat down and said, "Let's force petrochemical plants to be build in black neighborhoods."

But if I am wrong about that, how about some evidence of governmental racism?

 

When you read that, do you think that local politicians were sitting around coming up with ways to stick it to the black people in the area --with race being their motivations? ... Or. ... does it seem more likely that the typical, corrupt local politician, who is part of a the typical political machine, was using his job as a "commissioner" to line his pockets, and that came at the expense of the most depressed area in the parish. where nobody shows up for public meetings to even challenge his corruption?
