    Ragu must have gotten one of those “sanitized for your protection” educations people around here are so desperate to mandate for their own kids lest they ever question why white always seems to make right.

    Racism is racism. It will likely never go away, because it is rooted in individual attitudes. ... and people can be really shitty. There are people who are antagonistic, discriminatory, prejudiced, etc. toward others because of their race.

    But racism is something specific. It is discrimination againt someone because of their race.

    A lot of people now take every outcome they are outraged by. ... and allege that the outcome has to be an example of racism at work.

    Sometimes, that is the case. Oftentimes, it is not.

    But it's become so automatic that it's become corrosive. It has taken a majority of people who didn't have racist attitudes, and it is causing them to shut down on claims of racism.

    When you make racism so fungible ("de facto racism" was the term someone posted) that everything is an example of racism (regardless of evidence of actual racial animus), you are having the effect of making it so that nothing (including actual racist behavior) is.
