If you believe the reports that they only had 180,000 paid subscribers, but have lost way more in ad revenue than those subscriptions are bringing in, no, he’s really not all that good.

He continues to find investors willing to give him billions.

He's good at something, at any rate.

Even that's not true. Nobody is "giving" him shit. ... let alone investing in Twitter. He has been out trying to sell equity for months because he has a really big interest payment coming due and the company's cash flow doesn't even close to covering it. But because of the valuation he needs to get due to what he paid for the company (which is even more ridiculous today than it was when he made his offer), he's had zero success.

It's fun to watch, because Tesla should have been bankrupt more than once, but he was able sell equity several times at insanely inflated valuations (as well as taking on debt). ... and he'd dilute existing shareholders in the process, but because of the casino zero interst rate policy created, the equity dilution wasn't dilutive to the price.

There is no bailout like that for him in the current environment. It's no longer surival of the unfittested (which is him in a nutshell). Weak companies are starting to be exposed, not rewarded.

Then who are the investors that continue to give him billions, and what is it that they are giving it to him for?

People will pay him for the little check ribbon, so he wins anyway.
Maybe ElOn will place a little gold sticker on your forehead, for a fee of course.

Suck-ups and trolls will pay for the blue check. Absolutely nobody else will pay for the blue check, and the damage done by the changes will far outweigh any boost in income.

I have a blue check. When it disappears, it disappears. No way on earth I would ever pay for that.

Are news organizations going to pay for the blue check for reporters? I would hope they won't be giving any money to this jacktool.

I bet that's a big part of his calculus for Twitter Blue. I really hope he's wrong.
