From what I can tell, those hoping the base would turn on Trump on their own, won't get their wish. Not sure it will be the case of the candidate who can take out Trump will take the nomination, or end up taking themself out of contention by doing it. In any case, the time for subtlety is over. If the GOP really wants to win in '24, Trump can't be the nominee. But I think most of the sitting GOPers know if they come out against Trump, they won't win their seat in '24.

I hope they all tear each other to pieces and burn the party to the ground. They deserve it.

At this point, none of them are beating trump. The coalition isn't there.

Was listening to Hannity's radio show last night - you can tell the hosts are toeing a precarious line - not wanting to alienate their audiences, which are fairly split. It's most fun when a caller is arguing against a Trump or DeSantis nomination and hearing how the hosts respond. These aren't hosts known for holding their opinions in check - but they are doing it now.

One of the more underappreciated aspects of politics is the "Hidden Primary" which is going on now, but largely shapes the narrative of how things will shake out next year. Which donors are committing to which candidates, staffers, and most importantly - the conservative punditry. What is interesting with the "beer track" news - is these three groups are typically made up of non-beer trackers. They know Trump can't win in '24, but also want to retain their "political viability."

I'm never going to say "trump can't win" again. If the criminal gets the nomination, anything can happen. Even if it's a miniscule chance, it's still not worth the risk.

And there would be nobody competent left in the world to work in a second trump administration. No guardrails. No adults. Just enablers who'll cheer him on as he launches missile strikes on New York.

As a certain subset of dipshits cheer from their unaffected sidelines because libs, and every other person not like them, would be getting PWNED.

Remember that as others try to remind you that they're actually good people and not really Trump supporters.
