And, as I read this post, while seeing/looking at garrow's just two posts up from it, don't overlook the fact that having DeSantis as the nominee, and a possible winner, would be just as bad, if not worse.

 

Hard disagree. I'm disgusted by everything DeSantis does for the most part. But trump is completely psychotic. Mentally ill. And as awful as his "presidency" was, a second term would be the death of this country on many levels.

 

I try not to think about it, and am just hoping Trump does not get nominated. But the idea of DeSantis does not reassure me, particularly because I think he is going to get nominated.

Just look at a lot of the things he's done, and that he wants to do. He's nuts, and scary because he is actually accomplishing much of it -- entirely for political reasons. I have trouble thinking he even really believes in the things he's done, and is doing. It's like he's playing a freaking game (to him, anyway).

There almost seems to be an excuse for Trump -- he's stupid, unprofessional, immature, mentally ill, whatever. Not so DeSantis.

But I'm not willing to believe that Trump

Trump would get Mutomboed to the rafters against Biden in a 400+ EV. DeSantis is far weaker and would be decimated by Trump to the point where his re-election as Florida governor would be called into question. Young DeSantis would be wise to wait until 2028. But wisdom is in short supply.

 

After 2016, I wouldn’t be so confident. I know Biden is a less (more acceptably?) flawed candidate than Hillary, but still.
