There's no way UConn was underseeded. They finished tied for fourth in the league. The champion got a 2 and the runner-up, two games ahead of them, was a 3. The third place team was a 6 and the team they tied with was 11. They were right where they were supposed to be.

Conference standings don't make a lick of difference. Or at least aren't supposed to. They might have here based on what you laid out. They actually had a pretty similar resume to Marquette, who did get the 2, with higher metrics. Definitely a better resume than Xavier, who got a 3. I'm not saying they should have been a 2, but the argument can be made. They probably should have been a 3. Regardless, clearly one of the best teams in this tourney throughout.

UConn has played four excellent games in the tournament. This has no relationship to how they were seeded prior to the tournament.

Unless you brought up that UConn, FAU and SDSU were under seeded *before* the tournament tipped off, this is nothing but 20-20 hindsight. Maybe even 20-10.

I've brought up both SDSU and FAU. There is plenty of discussion about UConn being underseeded out there from Selection Sunday and beyond. Same with FAU. SDSU was pretty close, but they could have been a 4.

It doesn't really matter, just something to talk about. All deserve what they've accomplished.

I’m sorry but uconn does not have a better resume than Marquette, Arizona, UCLA or Texas as a 2.

you want argue they could have been the last 3 maybe

Again, not saying they should have been a 2. I said that. Resumes obviously get similar at the top. I do think they should have been a 3. Bracketmatrix had them as 3 over Xavier and barely behind K-State. Also again, it doesn't matter. They're in the Final Four and have played better than anyone else. Maybe a 3 would have hurt them. Who knows. Just a conversation.

No matter what happens from here on in, this will be true: For the seventh time in the past nine tournaments, the champion spent no time at No. 1 in the AP poll.
Of the Final Four, only San Diego State (No. 19) was in the preseason poll. So unless the Aztecs win, the following will be true of this odd year: The preseason No. 1 didn't make the tournament at all and the NCAA champion was unranked in the preseason.

Hell, no one wanted to stay at #1 this entire season. Every time a new one was minted they promptly took a loss or two.

    It's been an odd year.

Wisconsin up two over North Texas with three minutes to go. Nice comeback by North Texas.
