Running shooting thread 2023

Spend 40 years fighting against any restrictions on the sale of guns, and then throw your hands in the air and say, "whelp too many guns out there to restrict gun ownership now!"

What a great plan.

 

We hear a lot about the people who believe 2A is some sort of form of heckler's veto against "tyranny," which they normally define as any government authority attempting impose any sort of obligation on them. But that's 1-in-100, if not 1-in-1000. But the problem is this culture spends so much time stoking fear over crime that Americans are positively paranoid about it, whether it's property crime or violent assault. And that's why things like school shootings can't shame a lot of those people. There is no number of dead kids that will outweigh their paranoia over scary (often black) bandits invading their homes. To them, gun control constitutes unilateral disarmament.

The right has fully mobilized to make this a transgender, anti-Christian attack. From all of your favorite politicians to the cover of the NY Post, that’s the narrative until the next school shooting.

But the shooter was a Christian....

 

Now if the shooter had been a drag queen, or had banned books in her backpack ...

 

what's most important is that we never do anything about anything
