Depends on what you're hunting. That .223 round is good for predators like coyotes - or even feral hogs - where you aren't worried about recovering the meat. In some states, the .223 isn't legal for deer hunting.

And ARs come in multiple calibers now, including many that can be used in traditional, wood-stock bolt-action rifles.

    You mean second?

Regardless, I don't care. The point is, if we can shut down Russia, we ought to be able to do something about the NRA. We talk after every shooting about changing, updating or eliminating the second amendment, and, at some point something is going to need to be done. I would prefer sooner rather than later. If the NRA has politicians in its back pocket, or vice versa, that needs to end, as quickly and horribly as all these child- and adult-victims' lives did.

What’s that gonna tell you? There are a metric fuckton of Russian bot accounts out there leading the conversation. There aren’t that many pairs of wraparound Oakleys in existence.

No, First. They’re an advocacy organization for gun manufacturers. And money is speech.

No, the First Amendment prevents the government from shutting down the NRA.

The military makes people feel uneasy without a weapon.

Probably like driving on the highway without wearing a seatbelt type of uneasy.

Meh. You still end up with a rifle that you can’t use for meat hunting, which to me is the main reason to hunt.

The manufacturers - with the NRA's help - quickly turned AR platforms into hunting caliber platforms once they saw sales of .223 plateauing.

The 6.5 Creedmoor round is the trendy caliber among hunters out west (elk, sheep, etc.) because it's an extremely accurate long-range round with minimal recoil. And there are a lot of 6.5 Creedmoor ARs out there now.

It's a varmit round. Small, fast, flat shooting. Used to be the .222 in bolt action was the choice. The .223 AR round is near identical.

Maybe they live in a really big house but I'm wondering how you would not know your child has seven guns in your house. If one of my kids was under care for an emotional disorder, I'd be snooping in their room regularly when they weren't looking.

Actually not, if somebody could figure out some illegal activities in which they were involved which didn't directly involve the use or ownership of firearms. If somebody could nail them on some other crimes, shut 'em down. I suspect fundraising fraud might have potential.

When covering the Nashville shooting, does the shooter allegedly being transgender need to be included in the story?
