    Yes.

It explains the name change and the difference in photos. It also is a fact for the reader to discern if there is a trend in these types of shootings just like age, gender, race and religion.

Hard news stories report facts. They do not filter them.

True. That’s what the NY AG is working on.

Sadly, paying tons of money for LaPierre’s suits and private planes and homes and vacations doesn’t seem to upset the rank-and-file members. It should.

That’s because the rank and file are gun nuts. If they weren’t, why belong to a domestic terrorist organization? Because that’s what the NRA is.

They literally profit off the terrorization of Americans. That a gun has other uses is irrelevant. So do cigarettes and heroin. The end result is the same: too many preventable deaths.

NRA is only going to further inflame in the coming days. Because it’ll make their gun nut members scared we’re coming for their guns. And so they’ll buy more guns.

How many NRA members do you know? I know a bunch and not all of them fit that "gun nut" stereotype. Some are members because the shooting range they belong to requires an NRA membership to join. Others bought a new firearm at a dealer and a cost of a membership was included in the price.

When I say they aren't upset about LaPierre's grifting off the org, I meant it in terms of ousting him from leadership. Of course, like any org only a small percentage has a say. I should have said NRA's leadership and heavy hitters aren't bothered by it - not Joe Smith who joined so he could shoot sporting clay matches at the local range.

But you're right about what the NRA will do in the wake of this. It will go silent for a bit, then start counterpunching calls for new gun regulations while sending out "they're coming for your guns" fundraising emails. Not that it needs the $25 from random gun owners, most of the org's money comes directly from the manufacturers. Any individual donations they get are seen as bonuses.

The news media typically will identify a shooter's race if a non-white group of people are the victims - a lot of speculation that the shooting in Monterey Park earlier this year was anti-Asian violence, until it was disclosed that the shooter himself was Asian. I honestly don't know if anyone should try and draw some conclusion between the shooter being trans and reportedly having some emotional problems - but they are facts.
