I don't know the Elvis catalogue any better than the average guy, but that's always been my all-time favorite performance and song by him.

I don’t know his catalog very well, but this is too good a song not to be among his finest:

I read Lonesome Dove about two years ago and was blown away at how good it was. I had wrongly assumed it was some sort of melodrama. I swear James’ music gives me the same satisfaction as his father’s book, just in microdose form.

 

I read McMurtry's fictionalized biography of Pretty Boy Floyd. It's pretty good.

 

I like Todd, and I really liked him back then. Caught him on ACL in the late 90s and he was right in my wheelhouse.

 

I gushed over Will Kimbrough on a recent concert post. That's Will on guitar.
