We were speculating a few weeks ago that they were would be a line of detectives with last names like Hernandez, Diaz and Lopez volunteering to be the ones to fingerprint him.

You are equating not letting her speak with not broadcasting what she says. Those are not the same thing.

I understand the argument for broadcasting or writing about her idiocy, but I don't understand how you can be ignorant or naive enough to write that nothing is threatening about what Greene says just because it is all rubbish. Did you not turn on the television Jan. 6, 2020 and for many days after that? Everything Trump said about the election being stolen was rubbish, but we saw exactly how it was threatening. The same morons listen to Greene. How do you not know this?

I didn't see the interview, but my understanding was that they didn't push back on her more ridiculous claims. That is irresponsible. Of course, you let the idiot sound like an idiot, but you call her on her bullshit. Otherwise, you just add legitimacy in the eyes of the Trumpist morons. Again, how do you not know this?

Because I hold the actual people who stormed the capital on January 6 responsible for their actions. I listened to Donald Trump for four + years. ... I didn't try to overthrow the government.

We're all responsible for our own actions. We make choices about how to behave. The people on January 6th made choices. They are responsible for those choices.

The problem with "her words are dangerous" arguments (in advocating for not giving people a forum -- what was happening on here) is that that kind of rationale gets applied to all kinds of people. It can be Marjorie Taylor Green. ... or it can be Martin Luther King Jr. I'd rather them both have the forum, and then either accepting or challenging what they have to say on the merits.

There are two separate discussions. Should 60 Minutes have done the story? And I was largely responding to the, "No, she's dangerous," "no, it's not news" posts I saw. I am sympathetic to the arguments that 60 Minutes did a shitty job on the segment, but no, I will never agree that she isn't newsworthy or that it was out of line for them to put a camera on her. She's become VERY newsworthy.

The second discussion for me is about words (mere speech) vs actions. And we live in a free country. ... In order to be a free country, we are best off with people like her being free to speak. Same as a neo nazi should be able to speak (and the Anti-defamation league is free to respond and speak with reason instead of hate). It's when they cross the line to actions that tangibly hurt others that we have the rule of law to fall back on.

I'd actually much prefer a spotlight on her. ... with people pointing out what a moron she is. If what she has to say is "rubbish" (the post I was responding to), then it should be fairly easy to keep pointing out what rubbish she is spouting .She's much better when she's challenged with reason and facts than the misguided idea that pretending she doesn't exist is going to have a better outcome. ... if people do storm the capital, we can let the rule of law govern their actions.

The lyrics to the apprentics were really truely right on.

Money, money, money, money, money [2x]
Some people got to have it
Do things, Do things, do bad things with it
    Dollar bills, yall
For that lean, mean, mean green
    Almighty dollar
    Talkin about money
Give me a nickel, brother can you spare a dime
Money can drive some people out of their minds
    Money, money, money, money, money

    Full Version:

Money, money, money, money, money [6x]
Some people got to have it
    Some people really need it
Listen to me y'all, do things
Do things, do bad things with it
You wanna do things, do things
Do things, good things with it
    Talk about cash money, money
    Talk about cash money
    Dollar bills, yall

    For the love of money
People will steal from their mother
    For the love of money
People will rob their own brother
    For the love of money
People can't even walk the street
    Because they never know
Who in the world they're gonna beat
For that lean, mean, mean green
    Almighty dollar, money

    For the love of money
People will lie, Lord, they will cheat
    For the love of money
People don't care who they hurt or beat
    For the love of money
A woman will sell her precious body
For a small piece of paper
It carries a lot of weight
Call it lean, mean, mean green

    Almighty dollar

I know money is the root of all evil
Do funny things to some people
Give me a nickel, brother can you spare a dime
Money can drive some people out of their minds

Got to have it, I really need it
How many things have I heard you say
    Some people really need it
How many things have I heard you say
Got to have it, I really need it
How many things have I heard you say
Lay down, lay down, a woman will lay down
    For the love of money
All for the love of money
Don't let, don't let, don't let money rule you
    For the love of money
    Money can change people sometimes
Don't let, don't let, don't let money fool you
    Money can fool people sometimes
People, don't let money, don't let money change you
It will keep on changing, changing up your mind

Really wish Stahl asked MTG if she'd ever heard of Mark Foley or Dennis Hastert. To name two - there are many more.
