She outspent the guy in ads $10.1 million to $460,000. In an officially nonpartisan race.

I’d say Wisconsin Democrats are set up for a lot of wins over the next decade.

He sounded like a pretty non-partisan guy, no?

He did not. And neither did she. It sounds like the Supreme Court in Wisconsin functions like a super-senate, favoring Republicans for years, and now Democrats.

Actually, he’s receiving a trophy for being doorman of the year this weekend.

Dobbs really is quite the monkeywrench in the GOP’s medium-term prospects in the Great Lakes states. They should be routing Democrats in this climate of high inflation and instability, but they’ve shown themselves to be the exact theocrats they claimed they never were by criminalizing abortion.

It’s all I’d be hitting over and over in white suburban areas. It doesn’t even need to be hyperbole or scare tactics. They are criminalizing women’s healthcare. Blare it in every ad, every debate. It’s a 70-30 winner for Democrats in polling. Drag the Republicans into the water and drown them with it.

Anytime I see a Anti-Biden post on FB, it’s always fun to see where they didn’t go to college.

That’s not an accurate account of the money spent. Protasiewicz and her backers spent about $23.3 million and the Kelly side spent $17.6 million, making it by far the most expensive state supreme court race. Democrats and friends spent more, but the ratio was closer than 10 to .5.

The ad figures are accurate according to the AP

Liberal outraises conservative in Wisconsin court race

Protasiewicz’s fundraising advantage allowed her to get TV ads on the air weeks before Kelly and his conservative backers could counter. As of March 22, her campaign had bought or reserved more than $10.1 million in ads, while Kelly had spent about $460,000, according to a tally by the Brennan Center for Justice.

The info I used is from April 3.

Spending in 2023 Wisconsin Supreme Court race tops $42 million
As of April 3, Protasiewicz and her backers have spent about $23.3 million compared with about $17.6 million for Kelly and his supporters, according to a report from the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign, which tracks campaign spending.April 3, Protasiewicz and her backers have spent about $23.3 million compared with about $17.6 million for Kelly and his supporters, according to a report from the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign, which tracks campaign spending.

I would suspect the final figures might be higher, indicating how important the race was to both sides.
