I'd say anybody but Koepka, but that would then include Patrick Reed.

Rahm opens with a double. Then shoots 9-under over the next 17 to tie for the lead.

To be honest, these guys aren't used to working on Thursday mornings anymore.

    A thought:

Here's the thing about the Masters. It simultaneously reinforces the best things about golf and the worst things about golf culture.

    Expounding:

Augusta National is a legendary setting that I would be thrilled to walk for 15 minutes, and the skill level and competition of the players manages to thread the gap between "birdiefest" and "bloodbath" better than any tournament. And yet, nothing charges up a bunch of middle managers who want to feel OK about their whiteness than a tournament by a bunch of old Southerners who police the use of the words "fans," "pin placement" and "back nine" so they can still be masters of something.

I'm not nearly as sentimental with the old guys as you. When their voice is gone, I am out on them, no matter how legendary.

But Uncle Verne sounds good. Voice is strong.

What was Tiger’s number at his peak?

He was +150 for the 2000 British Open, +160 for the 2000 PGA Championship and 2-1 for several other majors.

This was a fun watch today. The main telecast, the four (!) online feeds. I had four screens going at times; must have totaled 32 hours total. And Live From the Masters to come on Golf Channel.

I still have a stub from a mailed Vegas sportsbook check where I bet Tiger at 5-2 to win his second Masters. That felt like stealing at the time.
