He was a pretty dogged investigative reporter. Shared a Pulitzer with a team at the Guardian for reporting on the NSA.

Seemed to lose his marbles when he went to the Intercept and they dared to edit him. Quit.

Now he's Colonel Kurtz in his jungle hideout.

Editors are worth their weight in gold. If you need proof, read this message board.

Fox never was this bad under Ailes
He was a sexist pig but when he was in charge Fox didn’t ignore stories like it does now
It might have put its spin on stories but didn’t choose to not report on things like it does now
I think that’s because the Murdoch are acting as news editors and all they care about is $$$
More and more I don’t know if they care if they lose the Dominion suit
Fox’s audience will never hear about it
And it likes what Fox has to say
To paraphrase Otter: “Works better than the truth.”

    News accurately informs.

    Fox entertains while ignoring accuracy.

First two words, second graf of tweet. "Watch me ... " Yeah audience, look at me!
A couple of mentors would roll over in their graves if I ever said "Watch me ..." Just another example that cable-satellite news-opinion is a 24-hour cycle of crap.

    Taibbi, Weiss, Shellenberger, Greenwald . . .

All profiting handsomely from the sort of post-substack, unfactchecked, single-source junk journalism they pretend to decry.

    Cool.

I’m not one for silencing the media, but a few more defamation lawsuits wouldn’t be the worst thing.

It’s a high bar to cross, but discovery in some of these cases could be pretty damning. Think Bari Weiss is out there fact-checking anything that doesn’t comply with her worldview?

I’m sure substack, along with SB nation and other blogs, have no money in the budget for copy editors
