    You're right, my friend.

I just posted it on the J-board.

    Who edits Matt Taibbi?

    Nobody edits Matt Taibbi.

Weiss, Taibbi and Sy Hersh continue to show the importance of editors and fact-checkers.

This is why writers need editors. In case they don’t know what words actually fucking mean.

This is so awesome to me.

Taibbi's Rolling Stone stuff that people on here used to get excited about was always filled with ad hominem attacks. He would create these specious connections between things that logically didn't follow. ... it was all innuendo. And it was always a delivery mechanism for an ad hominen insult. "The world’s most powerful investment bank is a great vampire squid wrapped around the face of humanity, relentlessly jamming its blood funnel into anything that smells like money."

    *applause*

What that guy on TV did was a little picayune, but most of it was substantive.

"You wrote this. It's not true."

None of that was about Taibbi personally.

To me, for Taibbi of all people to say anything about an ad hominem attack is like, "Really?"

Well, it's not like he was wrong about the vampire squid bankers.

All of something there doesn't always translate to all of something here.

    Full stop.

Yesterday's factual inquisition was fascinating to watch. Taibbi knew he was getting got. No doubt he's been locked in a fever storm and will post a rebuttal in the coming days.

He’s already posted a tweetstorm rebuttal of sorts.

Missed it. Will smilingly hop over like a bunny in the pea patch.

That sort of vivid, counter-culture editorializing is in the magazine's DNA back to its founding.

Greider, Thompson, Crowe, Bangs, O'Rourke, et al. etc.
